The answer is not that simple. The law related to minibus driving in the UK is so complex and very confusing to say the least. Please continue reading through our simplified version or visit www.gov.uk/driving-a-minibus for a comprehensive explanation.
– What is it D1 Training?
This course, otherwise known as the Category D1 vocational driving license course, enables you to drive a minibus. A minibus is classed as a vehicle with a minimum of 9 seats and a maximum of 16 passenger seats.
If you are looking to drive a minibus for work purposes (Taxi or Private Hire Vehicle & Public PCV Services) classed as a hire and reward in other words driving on a commercial basis, you are required to pass a PCV D1 driving test which will give you full Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) D1 entitlement.
– Steps to gaining your full D1 Driving License Entitlement.
